POLICE say several people have reported seeing missing York woman Lisette Dugmore – but officers remain “extremely concerned” for her welfare.
Lisette, 36, from Peterhill Drive, Clifton, has not been seen since the early hours of last Monday, and her elderly parents and three siblings say they are terrified about what may have happened to her.
Acting Detective Inspector Adrian Gathercole said: “There have been a few reported sightings of her in the York area, but she has yet to make contact with family or friends.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information to urgently come forward.”
He said a mystery man who called police on the night she vanished had still not come forward, despite an appeal in The Press on Saturday night.
Police said then that the man, who gave his name only as Matt, called from a phone box at the front entrance to York Railway Station, saying that he had just been speaking to a woman who was in a distressed state.
Officers believe the woman may be Lisette and think the man may have vital information which could assist in their search for her.
Officers have put up posters in shops in the area near Lisette’s home asking members of the public to get in touch if they see her.
Her family have also made an emotional appeal for help in finding her.
Lisette is described as white, with brown shoulder-length hair and blue eyes and speaks with a local accent.
She is around 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, and was wearing blue jeans with a blue fleece top when she was last seen.
Anyone who has seen Lisette in the last few days or knows of her whereabouts is urged to phone North Yorkshire Police on 0845 60 60 247.
