HUNDREDS of people gathered to watch as a distinctly wintry scene was created on a city centre street.
SNO!zone brought an indoor real snow slope, which is based in Castleford, and which people use to learn how to ski and snowboard, to St Sampson's Square in York.
SNO!zone put on a freestyle demonstration, to show people what they could achieve if they learned the skills.
Emma Darvill, of SNO!zone, said some of the best riders - people who do freestyle skiing or snowboarding - in the UK were demonstrating on the slope, which had real snow on it.
Emma said: "The crowds loved it. We've come to York as part of our summer campaign to show people what we have in Castleford and what they can do.
"We put on a freestyle demo to show people, if they come and learn ski and snowboard, what they'll be able to achieve if they come and learn with us."
