THE loss of a post office is a serious blow to a community.
This newspaper has campaigned against the closure of branches across our area because we understand that, particularly for the more vulnerable members of our society, they provide a vital service.
Post offices are businesses too, however, and they can influence their own success.
We salute the initiative shown by Crichton Avenue postmaster Alistair Murray and computer expert Jason Robinson in offering a great new service in computer repairs over the post office counter.
We hope their business goes from strength to strength and that it inspires others to think of ways to help their post offices thrive.
