Group to share love of reading

7:25am Wednesday 19th March 2008

A NEW book group is being launched by City of York Council's library service, to give visually-impaired people in York the chance to meet up and share their enjoyment of reading.

Starting from Tuesday, April 8, the group will meet at York Blind and Partially Sighted Society, Holgate Villa, 22 Holgate Road, YO24 4AB on a monthly basis.

Audio books supplied by the Yorkshire and Humberside Speaking Volumes project will be used and the sessions will take place from 10.30am to noon.

The idea is for group members to talk about the kinds of books they enjoy and choose some titles to focus on at regular meetings during the coming months.

For more information, phone York Blind and Partially Sighted Society on 01904 636269, or Tricia Raxworthy or Alison Morgan at York Library on 01904 552814.
