Car fire on major road
FIREFIGHTERS were called in after a car fire on a major road.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they were called shortly before 5.30pm last night to reports of a car on fire on the A64 at Brompton by Sawdon, near Scarborough.
A spokesman for the service said: "Fire control received multiple calls to a car fire on the A64.
"A crew from Sherburn were mobilised and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus, the cause of the fire is believed to be due to an engine fault."
