AMERICAN three-piece The Lone Bellow visit Pocklington Arts Centre for the first time on Tuesday, much to the delight of director Janet Farmer.

"I had the pleasure of watching The Lone Bellow perform at the South By South West festival in Austin, Texas a few years ago and have wanted to bring them to Pocklington ever since, so this is really exciting. Having seen them for myself, I know just how good they are as musicians and live performers, so the audience are in for a real treat."

Lining up with Zach Williams on guitar and lead vocals. Kanene Donehey Pipkin on mandolin, bass, keyboard and vocals and Brian Elmquist on guitar and vocals, the Americana trio have released three albums, the most recent being last September's Walk Into A Storm, produced by Dave Cobb, on the Sony label.

Earlier came their self-titled 2013 debut and 2014's Then Came The Morning, produced by The National's multi-instrumentalist, Aaron Dessner . Subsequently, The Lone Bellow left their beloved adopted home of Brooklyn, New York, to move to Nashville, Tennessee, drawn to the capital of country's vibrant music scene.

Noted for their transcendent harmonies, serious musicianship and raucous live performances, Williams, Pipkin and Elmquist have seen all three albums make the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.

Through the years, they have performed on such shows as the BBC's Later...with Jools Holland, The Late Show With David Letterman and The Late Late Show With James Corden.

Tickets for Tuesday's 7.30pm gig cost £17.50 on 01759 301547 or at pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk.
