Yorkshire have been bowled out for 216 by Worcestershire on the stroke of tea on day one at Scarborough.

Kane Williamson’s 131-ball 87 stood out, although Jack Brooks hit a late and important 38 as the hosts recovered from 155-8 and the loss of four wickets in 14 balls.

Dillon Pennington claimed four wickets, including two of those four quick ones to fall midway through the afternoon.

Williamson shared 88 with Jonny Tattersall either side of lunch to recover from 63-4, but he chopped on to Moeen Ali’s off-spin in that mini collapse.

Pennington had Tattersall (27) brilliantly caught one-handed at second slip above his head by Daryl Mitchell.

Brooks then pulled the same bowler for six and drove Ali over long-off, dominating a 56-run stand with Matthew Fisher (20 not out) before offering a skied caught and bowled chance to Ed Barnard, who finished with three wickets.

There are 34 overs remaining to be bowled in the day.
