WORCESTERSHIRE have enjoyed the better of the opening morning against Yorkshire at Scarborough, restricting the hosts to 78-4 from 29 overs at lunch.
Dillon Pennington struck twice in the 23rd over to give the hosts the advantage, getting Gary Ballance and Tom Kohler-Cadmore caught at point, the latter off a combination of glove and shoulder.
That left Yorkshire at 63-4 after they had been asked to bat following an uncontested toss.
Harry Brook was the first to fall, caught by Pennington at deep square-leg as he aimed a pull at Josh Tongue.
Adam Lyth was then trapped lbw by an Ed Barnard inswinger, leaving Yorkshire at 42-2 in the 14th.
Kane Williamson remains unbeaten on 40, having been dropped at first slip by Ross Whiteley off Pennington on 18.
