A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a chip pan caught fire at a house in North Yorkshire.
Fire crews from Lythe and Robins Hoods Bay were called to the scene in Briggswath near Whitby at around 6.30pm yesterday (August 15).
The occupants were out of the house when crews arrived, and the fire in the kitchen had been put out.
North Yorkshire fire service said a woman was taken to hospital for a check-up.
It also said there was fire damage to the kitchen, cooker and extractor fan.
Fire survival advice was given to the occupants.
