VISITORS can see York Minster's craftspeople at work in their workshops when the cathedral's Stoneyard in Deangate holds an open day on Friday.
The event, which runs from 9.30am until 3pm, allows people to learn how the Minster’s historic fabric is repaired, restored and protected.
A Stone Carving Festival will take place over the weekend in Deans Park, between 8am-6pm on Saturday and 8am-5pm on Sunday.
More than 70 stonemasons from across the globe will gather to carve on the theme ‘All creatures great and small.'
