ST LEONARD’S Hospice has opened its 12th high-street shop and business is already booming.
The new shop at 60 Layerthorpe comes just one year after the charity opened a shop on Fossgate and took almost £500
in the first hour of opening.
The ribbon was cut at 11am yesterday and eager customers were entered into a raffle to win tickets to York Races.
The shop will primarily focus on selling high-quality second-hand furniture, but will also stock clothing, books, media and accessories.
Manager Helen Moreton said: “The look of the shop is very different for us. When we opened on Fossgate last summer, the interior was styled on a trendy, independent boutique, whereas we have tried to give the interior
a lightly industrial look.”
To donate furniture, have it collected, or volunteer, contact the retail team on 01904 788 777. The shop is open Monday-Saturday, 9am-4pm.
