AMERICAN soul, doo-wop and R&B legends The Drifters will play the Grand Opera House, York, on August 23, and The Press has two pairs of tickets to be won, courtesy of the Cumberland Street theatre.
Originally formed to serve as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter in 1953, the New York City group have their place in the American Rock'n'Roll Hallof Fame, have performed for the President of the United States and are listed among the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.
Expect a set list featuring such favourites as Saturday Night At The Movies; You’re More Than A Number In My Little Red Book; Come On Over To My Place; Up On The Roof; Under The Boardwalk; Kissin' In The Back Row; On Broadway; Save The Last Dance For Me; Down On The Beach Tonight; There Goes My First Love; Like Sister and Brother; Can I Take You Home Little Girl? and Hello Happiness.
