TWO fires involving bales of straw in Copmanthorpe are believed to have been started deliberately.
Fire crews from Acomb and York were called to Temple Lane at around 6.35pm yesterday (August 12) where 80 straw bales were alight.
The crews used hose reel jets and small tools to put out the blaze.
Also yesterday evening, North Yorkshire fire service received a call at around 6.20pm about a fire involving two bales of straw on Back Lane in Copmanthorpe.
A crew from Acomb attended and used hose reel jets and small tools to extinguish it.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "The fires are both believed to be deliberate."
