A RESIDENTIAL street in Harrogate will be closed for three weeks.

Residents have complained about the condition of Beckwith Road, and North Yorkshire County Council will resurface it in two phases from Monday.

The first week will involve closure of the section between the roundabout and Beckwith Avenue, with diversions in place.

Week two will see the closure of the section between Beckwith Avenue and Otley Road with diversions in place, and week three will see speed humps installed.

Cllr Jim Clark said: "Residents and road users alike will be delighted that work is due to start at last on the resurfacing of Beckwith Road. I can't wait to see the finished job and have a smooth surface after many years of potholes."
