A YORK café and a number of its suppliers are donating produce for the Fulford Golf Club charity golf tournament in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice.

Café at No. 12 on Tadcaster Road, just down the road from St Leonard’s Hospice, has offered to take care of the catering at the golf day free of charge, with the support of local businesses including ‘Dairyman’ Philip C Huyton and Knavesmire Butchers. York Coffee Emporium have also generously donated tea, coffee and hot chocolate for the day.

Café at No. 12 will be making mini quiches, sausage rolls, mixed canapes, gluten free brownies, lemon drizzle cake and mini victoria sponges for the golfers to enjoy at the halfway house.

Kathryn Craven, community fundraiser at St Leonard’s, said: “This is a wonderful gesture by all involved, and a fantastic demonstration of community spirit with everyone contributing to the cause. Fulford Golf Club have raised a staggering £283,000 for St Leonard’s Hospice to date towards the provision of end-of-life care for the people of York and the surrounding areas. The event is very much a team effort and we wish it every success once again this year.”

The tournament is on August 10 this year and teams of three can enter for £195. This entry fee includes green fees, coffee on arrival, halfway house and two course meal after the round. Contact the club for an entry form at stleonards.fulfordgolfclub@outlook.com or 01904 413 579.
