A CHARITY is looking looking for people to join their York fundraising group.

Marie Curie is to help raise vital funds so that their nurses can continue to provide care for people with terminal illnesses in the comfort of their owns homes.

Set up almost four years ago, the team of four volunteers has worked tireless on annual campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and last year alone, raised a staggering £17,600.

The group is looking for more people to join to help them stage imaginative, entertaining and successful events across York, explore new fundraising opportunities, build relationships with local businesses and organisations and uncover new sites for collection tins.

The group is also looking to recruit a Community Speaker to help champion the Charity’s work locally. The role involves working with organisations such as Women’s Institutes, schools, business networks and church groups.
