A TELEVISION antiques expert has helped celebrate the opening of a new retirement develop in York.
David Harper, who has appeared on BBC shows Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic, joined City of York councillor Carol Runciman, executive member for adult social care and health, at the opening of McCarthy and Stone development Cardinal Court in Bishophill.
Cllr Runciman said: “This new development forms part of our wider plan to modernise accommodation and care for older people across the city. We will deliver accommodation that is designed appropriately and which supports and encourages independent living in later life.” She said it could help free up family homes for the younger generation.
