RESIDENTS and business owners are invited to have their say on plans to improve junctions on Wigginton Road near York Hospital.

Plans include replacing the mini-roundabout between Wigginton Road and Fountayne Street with a new junction and rebuilding the junction between Haxby Road, Wigginton Road and Clarence Street.

A council spokesman said this will help reduce journey times for traffic and improve pavements and crossings allowing space for larger pedestrian islands.

The traffic signals at the Haxby Road, Wigginton Road and Clarence Street junction would also be replaced.

Existing cycle lanes will remain in place and there will be a continuation of the cycle lanes

The scheme is set to cost £200,000 with funding coming from York's Better Bus Area programme.

A bus lane would not be installed as part of the proposals and the plan will not have an impact on the trees on Wigginton Road and Haxby Road.
