A MAN who entered the River Foss in York on Saturday afternoon has died.
North Yorkshire Police were called to the scene, near the Q-Park car park in Garden Place, at about 4pm.
A member of the public pulled the man out of the river and he was taken to York Hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that the man, aged in his 20s and from York, died in hospital yesterday, Sunday.
Officers say they are not yet in a position to identify the man but they are working to establish why he entered the river.
