YORKSHIRE have reached tea on day one against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford at 165-8.
The White Rose have lost four afternoon wickets, advancing from 61-4, with Jack Brooks and debutant Josh Poysden on 13 and 12 respectively.
Adam Lyth’s 70 off 119 balls has led the way for the visitors, who were hurt by Jordan Clark’s morning hat-trick when he removed Joe Root, Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow.
Shortly after lunch, Clark also ran out Tim Bresnan backing up, having got a hand on a straight drive from Lyth.
Tom Bailey and Jimmy Anderson later struck twice in two balls to get Steve Patterson and Lyth caught at first slip.
