A FIFTH straight win for Dunnington has allowed them to overhaul long-time leaders York in the Hunters York & District Senior League Premier Division.

The former's three-wicket victory over bottom side Bolton Percy came at the end of a hard-fought contest at Pryers Cricket Ground.

A half-century from Ed Noble helped the visitors reach 212-9, despite wickets from Luke Kilby (4-34) and Dave Brent (3-62).

The home side did not have things all their own way, however, thanks to Danny White's 4-25 but after runs from George Drury (48) and Arthur Campion (35), Harrison Mussell was able to see the new leaders over the line with an unbeaten 33.

York's eight-week reign as front-runners ended as they lost by four wickets to Hull & Zingari at Clifton Park.

Alex Lilley top-scored for the home side with 33 in a total of 190-9.

Toby Giddings (4-47) then did his best to keep them in the game but Matthew Bunn's 91 ensured that the visitors returned to winning ways after back-to-back defeats.

Whitkirk consolidated third place with a fourth consecutive victory, the latest of these coming at home against Pickering.

Matthew Webb (47) and Mark Murphy (44) were both among the runs for the hosts, who reached 213-8.

The innings included wickets for Kieran Bowes (3-47) and he turned out to be the visitors' top scorer, making 43, although Dan Ward came close with 42.

However, the rest of the line-up found it tough going as Ben Danby (5-30) and Jack Wood (3-18) combined to bowl them out for 166.

Studley Royal are back up to fourth after they won a remarkable game against Driffield Town by one run.

Rob Mackle provided the day's most notable performance with the bat, despite it being only 35, Jamie Hopper taking 6-42 as the hosts only just reached three figures before being bowled out for 106.

Hopper's figures, excellent in their own right, were then overshadowed by Dan Craven, who took 7-24 as the visitors fell just short.

Ben Hatfield was the only batsman in the division to score a century, with his unbeaten 116 coming for Beverley Town as they ended Malton & Old Malton's run of three consecutive victories.

An unbeaten stand of 99 between Hatfield and Greg Whyley (51no) helped to propel the visitors to 224-4.

Neil Johnson began the home side's reply with 39, but other than a half-century from Matthew Turnbull (57), Jamie Roe kept the innings in check, eventually finishing with 7-53 from his 15 overs as the hosts were bowled out for 155.

Two sides struggling for form met at Back Lane, and it was Folkton & Flixton who brought to an end a four-match losing streak, beating Easingwold by six wickets.

With Kyle Waite (46), Max Cosgrove (31) and James Postill (30no) all in the runs, the hosts' total should perhaps have been more than the 165 that they finished on, with Jamie Nesfield (3-36) and Tom Norman (3-30) both among the wickets.

Norman completed a memorable day by top scoring with 41, and further contributions from both Will Hutchinson (38) and Will Norman (38) helped them ease to a comfortable win with more than 15 overs to spare.
