PUPILS from two schools in Selby helped launch a new project to support children in Malawi this week.
Youngsters from Selby Abbey C of E Primary and Selby High School met Canon John Weetman at the abbey
for the launch of its Mary's Meals Backpack Project.
Pupils from local schools and their parents are being asked to donate items, including writing equipment and clothes, for deprived children in Malawi, in the southeast of Africa.
Donated items can be delivered to Selby Abbey between Monday, July 23 and Sunday, July 29, between 9am and 4pm.
