AN art installation has gone up in Pickering Library as part of the St Leonard’s Hospice Sunflower Art Festival.

Ryedale Miles of Care is an installation created by patients and families at St Leonard’s Hospice, Hospice supporters and the Pickering After-school Club. It consists of 190 flowers, each one representing 50 miles that the Hospice@Home Team travelled across Ryedale in a 12-month period.

Kathryn Craven, the hospice’s community fundraiser for Ryedale, said: “This is a lovely visual way of celebrating the care given by our Hospice@Home team in the Ryedale area. It’s wonderful that the community has come together to create this colourful artwork which we hope will bring joy to the people who see it throughout the month.”

The installation will be available to view in Pickering Library throughout July. It will then be available for display in other locations around Ryedale. To host the display, phone Kathryn Craven on 01904 777777.
