A TEENAGER has been arrested after allegedly failing to stop for police while riding a moped in York.

North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group said the 16-year-old was one of two moped riders who did not stop in the Clifton area, but he was located a short time later.

The group added that he was found to be in possession of cannabis and failed a roadside drug test.

It said he was arrested and a blood sample was taken for analysis.

A spokesman for the force said: "If charged and convicted with drug driving he will face a minimum 12 month disqualification.

"If you were the second rider, you can expect a visit from us soon."
