A CIGARETTE in a planter is believed to have caused a fire to a fence in York.
Fire crews from York and Acomb were called to a report of a shed on fire in the garden of a domestic property on Lotherington Mews, Osbaldwick, at 11.15pm on Thursday.
They found it was a fire to a fence that caused two square metres of damage to the fence and scorching to the shed.
Crews used a hose reel to put out the flames.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service said: "It is believed to have been caused by a cigarette in a planter."
