FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house fire in Easingwold caused by a pan of eggs which had boiled dry.
Crews from Acomb and Easingwold fire stations were called to the scene on Raskelf Road.
They put on breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to tackle the flames before using a thermal imaging camera to check the heat from the fire had not spread.
The kitchen was slightly damaged by smoke from the fire but fortunately no casualties were reported.
