ALL decent people believe in the freedom of speech and the freedom to peacefully demonstrate as shown in the anti-Trump march through York (The Press, July 17).
Among the 300 demonstrators was just one pro-Trump supporter. What a paradox it is that this individual caused the march to stop as the organisers demanded he leave the march. Obviously a case of having to accept “my version” of free speech.
Having no desire to ever go on a march for whatever reason, if I had been in York this day and seen what was happening, I would have gone and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with this stranger, as this sort of bullying is not acceptable.
