A DRINKER who caused problems at McDonald’s Blake Street branch in York has been fined.

Jamie Adam Kendra, 34, was on a conditional discharge for his part in a fight at the fast food restaurant when he was obnoxious towards police called to deal with disorder on May 25, York magistrates heard.

He told the court he had been out drinking as a break from caring duties at home and had got involved in an argument with an acquaintance.

Kendra, of Chapelfields Road, Acomb, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on May 25 and breaching a conditional discharge imposed last October for violence on June 30.

He was fined £180 with a £30 statutory surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Kathryn Reeve, prosecuting, said police were called to deal with two people fighting at the takeaway but the incident was over by the time they arrived.

CCTV operators directed them to Kendra who swore at them and continued to swear at them despite being warned about his conduct.

On another occasion, on June 30 last year, it took staff plus members of the public to separate him from another man as they fought “locked together” on the restaurant’s floor, said Ms Reeve.

The prosecution accepted Kendra had been provoked on that day.

Kendra said he had apologised to the man involved in the May 25 incident as soon as he had been released from custody.
