NORTH Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) will be swinging into the 1960s this weekend.

The annual 60s Fest takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can enjoy live singing at Grosmont Station and see classic cars and live music at Goathland. Visitors can also be transported to Memphis, as Levisham becomes ELVISham, with the “King’s” greatest hits and an Elvis exhibition. Pickering will also have live music, displays and an evening show.

The festival will also see the return of the Pop-Up Pirate Radio Show, which will focus on the early days of BBC Radio One and local stations; and a pop-up pub and gin bar.

New music acts at Pickering station include The Sonics, Rock ‘n’ Roll band, Fiona Harrison performing the female sounds of the 1960s and The Stones. Along the line Jo Farrow and the iconic Cilla Black will be performing at Goathland Station, while Little Miss Sixties will be at Grosmont.

Chris Price, general manager at NYMR, said: “After the success of last year, we just had to bring the 60s Fest back for 2018 and we’re very much looking forward to seeing so many people rolling back the years for a weekend of fun.”
