THE nerve of Cllr Anne Reid appears to have no bounds. She should know better than to put pen to paper to our local paper in her attempt to call for York to “receive fair funding” for public services (The Press, July 2).

She is the deputy leader of a local party who nationally, between 2010 and 2015, held the Tories together in the coalition government of the period, and should know better than to criticise from the sidelines.

Actions speak louder than words. Her party kept the Tories in power nationally for five years and are continuing to do so in York with their coalition on City of York Council.

She, along with the party she represents, are very good at putting pen to paper in attempts to gather support, but they never seem to come up with real actions that make a change to the average York resident.

Cllr Reid should better spend her time attempting to remove the Conservatives from office, nationally and locally.
