A WOMAN in an electric wheelchair was verbally and physically abused in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the woman and her husband were in The Village, Haxby, at about 2.15pm on Thursday, July 12, when they were verbally abused by two men in the street. One of the men then pushed the woman.
A police spokeswoman said the two men had been moving a broken down vehicle along the road in the direction of Wigginton before the incident, then moved the vehicle in that direction again immediately after the assault.
Officers want to speak to two women who stopped and spoke to the victim, and a third man who drove past in a green Ford Fiesta-style car after the assault, and stopped to assist the suspects move their vehicle.
