A VINYL-covered volcano has been unveiled at York Maze as the latest attraction ahead of its official opening this season.

Visitors will be able to use grips to clamber up the four-metre tall, 360 degree circular 'Volcorno' to reach a viewing platform at the top, before sliding down the outside or taking the large steel tube slide back to the base.

Owner Tom Pearcy said: “We have lots of amazing play areas for younger children but the Volcorno climb will offer a new challenge particularly for older children."

Kimberley and Craig Jackson, from Hull, who got married at York Maze three years ago, won a Facebook competition to officially launch the new Volcorno with their children Kacey, nine, and Lewis, eight, who were the first to try it out. The Elvington-based Maze opens from Saturday, July 14 to Monday, September 3.

This year’s design will be revealed on Friday, July 13. Here's a reminder of previous designs at York Maze http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/16332464.picture-gallery-top-of-the-crop-york-maze-photos/
