GLENN Wool will be embarking on a national tour in 2019, destined for The Basement, City Screen, York, on February 24.

The ironically named Impatient Productions – you will need patience, given the long wait for this date – will present the ex-pat Canadian comedian in Wool’s Gold II (The Iron Pirate), a show dedicated to his funniest and finest punchlines.

Now "comfortably in his forties" – he is 43 – new dad Wool delves into his back catalogue of material spanning 25 years to perform some of his more subversive routines in this Best Of set, but will he still agree with his early points of view or has he finally grown up?

Wool began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995, moving to London in 1998, since when he has appeared on such shows as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Russell Howard’s Good News, as well as hosting a new NBC series, Before The Morning After, in 2016.

Next year's tour will open at Duke Studios, Leeds, on February 1 and take in Fruit, Hull, on March 14. York tickets are on sale on 0871 902 5726 or at
