TWO YORKSHIRE dog-lovers are limbering up for a 24-hour relay in aid of the canine charity they work for.

Senior Dogs Trust coach Niki Smith, from Woodthorpe, and canine trainer Amy Ross, from Tadcaster, will join three colleagues from the trust rehoming centre to take on Endure 24 this weekend.

They are hoping to raise at least £500 to help care for the hundreds of dogs that walk through the doors at the Dogs Trust in Leeds every year.

Amy said: “Taking the dogs on great walks has helped us prepare.

“When we do training with them they get lots of lovely rewards, but the only reward we’re interested in is making sure we keep going and reach our fundraising target.”

About 1,500 runners are expected to take part in the day-long race at Bramham Park, which starts at midday today, Saturday.
