A CAR crashed and came to a halt on a level crossing in York.
North Yorkshire Police said it happened on the level crossing on Haxby Road at 12.45am on Sunday, June 24.
The car involved was a red Volkswagen, which collided with a fixed object before it came to a stop on the crossing itself, "posing a substantial risk to others," the force added.
It said the driver was taken to hospital following the crash with non-life threatening injures and has since been released. No other people were injured.
