I am getting excited. I never thought I would be inspired by the skeletal grey of a building but the shape of the new Community Stadium is progressing well at Monks Cross.

Of course it is not the steel which is getting me worked up, but the fact that the new sports stadium for our professional clubs is actually happening.

I will continue to monitor its progress of course but as a York City Knights and York City supporter I now want the powers-that-be to start moulding a culture of togetherness for both codes.

The Knights seem to be well on the way to achieving this and maybe this season coming will see the men in red starting the shoots of recovery after too many indifferent seasons.

I truly believe all supporters should follow both codes and get behind the teams in their efforts to bring success to the city.

One thing that depresses me has been the rhetoric at each signing of a new player who then spouts on about how happy they are, in a false position, blah blah blah.

We want action on the park as paying customers wanting to be entertained.

The manager needs two seasons to get things truly in perspective and the Knights need a full-time core at the next level to survive.

A bit more information about travelling to the new ground would be important as I believe the Park&Ride scheme could be a big player in easing traffic volumes by providing direct buses to the ground and back.
