HOMEOWNERS at new David Wilson Homes development Derwenthorpe have raised nearly £400 for York Food Bank at an open gardens event.
The party was designed to bring the community together for an afternoon of activities including a quiz for children, plant swap stall and organic vegetable and bread stalls.
Julian Pattison, organiser of the Discover Derwenthorpe event, said: “We’re delighted with the turnout of the event and the support that David Wilson Homes offered. I would like to thank everybody who got involved, we hope to make this an annual event on the York calendar."
The housebuilder offered free refreshments, opened its show home gardens and donated a dog teddy prize for children at the open gardens event.
