HUNDREDS of people enjoyed music and sunshine on the longest day of 2018 when The Script performed in North Yorkshire.

More than 82,000 people have bought tickets for this summer’s series of gigs at Europe’s largest open-air arena, which also includes headline shows by such stars as Britney Spears, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and Gary Barlow, who will perform tonight.

The summer season was kicked off by Lionel Richie on Tuesday, while The Script took to the stage on Thursday to perform their hits including Rock The World, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, For The First Time, No Good In Goodbye, Hall Of Fame, Superheroes and Breakeven.

Upcoming gigs at the open air theatre include Nile Rodgers and CHIC on Sunday, Steps on June 29, Alfie Boe on June 30, Emeli Sandé on July 5, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds on July 6, Stereophonics on July 19, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics on July 20, Il Divo on July 21, James Arthur on July 26, Bastille on July 28, Texas on August 11, Britney Spears on August 17 and James on August 18.
