ARTWORK by 400 children has gone on show at their school's third annual art exhibition.

Copmanthorpe Primary is displaying work which pupils have produced during a Multi-Faith Arts Week, alongside other creations from the year.

The theme is spiritual spaces, with examples including Islamic tiles made from recycled fabric and clay, Egyptian self-portraits featuring hieroglyphics from ancient monuments, Zen gardens, Humanist inspired works, Rangoli patterns made from a variety of mediums and stained glass window-inspired installations.

The exhibition is interactive with opportunities for Egyptian-inspired selfies and Henna Mehndi patterns. All exhibits will be displayed with a QR code to give visitors more information.

Head teacher Jenny Roger said: “Our art exhibition is a great way for the children to show off their talents and for the community to come together and celebrate the children’s hard work from throughout the year.”

Mrs Rogers thanked all the teaching and support staff for putting together "such an impressive show”.
