TWO major York museums and the city’s art gallery will be free to residents over the coming weekend.
The York Museums Trust’s open weekend will apply to the Yorkshire Museum and York Castle Museum as well as York Art Gallery on Saturday and Sunday.
A spokesman said visitors can step back into dinosaur country in Yorkshire’s Jurassic World at the Yorkshire Museum, see a major new exhibition, Ceramics & Buttons, by world renowned potter Lucie Rie at York Art Gallery or take a walk through the Riverside Gardens and Raindale Mill at the Castle Museum, which had ‘sprung into life’ in recent weeks.
“The Raindale Mill will be open 11am-2pm both days,” he said.
He added that any resident with a York Card or council tax bill from City of York Council could gain free access to the three sites over the weekend.
