PROBATION officers have been asked to investigate the danger to children posed by a paedophile who started abusing youngsters when he was in his teens.

Adrian Joseph Martin Rennie, 30, formerly of Dringhouses, has now admitted raping and sexually abusing three children aged between eight and 12 over a six-year period.

Yesterday, he pleaded guilty to six charges of raping boys and 14 of causing or inciting boys under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He appeared at York Crown Court via a video link with Hull Prison where he is currently serving ten years in jail for sexually abusing a girl including raping her.

The last offences was committed in 2013 and he made his first court appearance in mid-2014.

He will be sentenced on July 20 for the offences against two boys after probation officers prepare a report on the danger he poses to members of the public.

Prosecuting, Simon Reevell said the judge who sentenced Rennie to ten years in prison in 2015 was unaware that Rennie had raped and sexually abused one boy before he committed the offences against the girl and a second boy after the offences against the girl.

Rennie admitted raping the first boy five times and 13 charges of causing or inciting him to engage in sexual activity and one charge each of rape and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity against the second boy.
