Selby District Council employees have been rewarded for their continuous service.

The council recognised the commitment and loyal service of a number of its employees, and said the authority would not be able to deliver such successful services without their efforts.

The Long Service Awards celebrate the outstanding milestones achieved by staff who have worked continuously for the Council for 20, 30 and 40 years.

The ceremony was held on Thursday, June 14, when each long serving employee was presented with a certificate and vouchers to thank them for their continued service, by chief executive Janet Waggott, and council leader Mark Crane.

Council officers honoured included Environmental Health Officer Ben Hymers (20 years), Neighbourhood Officer Carol Reynolds (30 years), Empty Homes Officer Andy Rouse (20 years), Benefits & Taxation Assessor Adrienne Smith (20 years), and Senior Planning Support Officer Francine Wells (40 years).

Cllr Mark Crane, said: "It’s important that our staff receive recognition for their commitment and I’d like to congratulate all those involved on their dedication to serving the community."
