PATIENTS and visitors to a hospice in York will be treated to a rainbow of colour next month.
St Leonard’s Hospice is inviting people to dedicate a coloured ribbon for special people in their lives.
Throughout July, the St Leonards Hospice will be displaying hundreds of ribbons at the front of the hospice on Tadcaster Road.
It is designed to be a colourful and positive way of celebrating special people.
The hospice is inviting people to write their own ribbons on three different occasions throughout June.
There will be the opportunity to donate and then write a ribbon at the Summer Fair at the hospice between noon and 4pm on June 24, then at The EM People Studio, The Crescent in Selby between 10am and 3pm on June 27 and at the market in Easingwold between 10am and 3pm on June 29. You can also dedicate a ribbon online and a member of the hospice team will write a ribbon on your behalf.
It is hoped that the display of ribbons will bring colour and joy to patients and visitors to St Leonard’s during the month.
Not only this, the display is a way of raising funds to continue the vital care provided by the hospice.
As well as being on display outside the hospice, the ribbons will also be on display at Selby Abbey and in the Market Place in Easingwold.
