THE Press has two pairs of tickets to be won for A Beautiful Noise, Fisher Stevens' celebration of the life and music of Neil Diamond, at York Barbican on October 31, courtesy of promoters Flying Entertainment.

Stevens, a life-long lover of Diamond's songs, has toured the world as a performer and dates for his lavish tribute show already are being extended into 2019.

"It is my privilege to celebrate that talent and take the audience on a journey," he says. "I am supported by an experienced band, with brass and string players, and backing singers who are all as passionate about Neil Diamond as I am," he says.

Stevens will perform heartfelt renditions of such Diamond gems as Sweet Caroline, Song Sung Blue, Cracklin’ Rosie and Forever In Blue Jeans, plus the duet You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, originally a hit for Diamond and Barbra Streisand.

Stevens' 13-date tour comes in the wake of 77-year-old Brooklyn songwriter Diamond announcing "with great reluctance" that his touring days are over after his diagnosis for Parkinson's disease. Diamond played his final Yorkshire show at Leeds First Direct Arena last October.

A Beautiful Noise – a title taken from Diamond's song Beautiful Noise – is produced by David Mackay, who created hits for Dusty Springfield, The Bee Gees, Eric Clapton and Cliff Richard and was the musical director for such West End shows at 125th Street and Jailhouse Rock.

Tickets are on sale at flyingmusic.com and yorkbarbican.co.uk, on 0844 854 2747 or from the Barbican box office in person.
