CAST members of a play being performed in York visited the city’s Army Museum to research the First World War – the period during which the story is set.
Four cast members of Birdsong, based on Sebastian Faulks’ bestselling novel, enjoyed a tour of the museum, in Tower Street, on Tuesday.
The play’s leading man Tom Kay is a former pupil at Pocklington School.
He comes from Eastrington, near Howden, in East Yorkshire.
He previously performed another World War One play Journey’s End on the Great War battlefield of Ypres.
Other cast members who attended are Simon Lloyd, Jeff Harmer, and Martin Carroll.
Birdsong is being performed at York Theatre Royal until Saturday.
