THE Rhapsody Regalers chamber choir, from Upper Poppleton, York, are on a recruitment drive for new voices in preparation for their summer concert, Songs For Stage & Screen, on August 4.
"As an informal four-part chamber choir, our repertoire consists of madrigals, motets, light pop, show tunes and sacred music," says musical director Nicola Harrison.
"For the next concert, we're focusing on music from musicals and films. We welcome anyone who enjoys part singing and can also sight-sing to a reasonable standard."
The Rhapsody Regalers meet fortnightly. "Our next rehearsal is on Sunday (June 3) from 7.30pm to 9pm at Poppleton Methodist Church Hall, and anyone interested should send an email to sylvie203@acecreatives.co.uk or phone 07487838624 before Sunday," says Nicola.
Songs From Stage & Screen at Poppleton Methodist Church Hall, The Green, Upper Poppleton, features not only The Rhapsody Regalers' Best Of Broadway selection but also Gaudete's Saturday Night At The Movies programme.
Tickets for this 7.30pm concert cost £7.50, including refreshments, on 07487 838624 or at sylvie203@acecreatives.co.uk.
"Before then, we're also doing some community singing at Limetree House Care Home, in Main Street, Upper Poppleton, and at St Leonard’s Hospice, in Tadcaster Road, York, in July," says Nicola.
