HUNDREDS of school children have taken part in the Duncombe Park Schools’ Days event, by kind permission of the Hon Jake Duncombe.
About 370 primary school children took part in the two-day event at Duncombe Park, organised by Anna Hare of Countryside Learning.
Pupils took part in a host of of activities run by local organisations, including Helmsley Walled Garden, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, the North Yorkshire Moors Moorland Organisation, National Park, Ryevitalise, North Yorkshire Police, Ryedale Folk Museum, Helmsley Castle and Ryeburn Icecream.
All contributed on a voluntary basis and the day was free for schools.
At lunch time, they were entertained by a flying demonstration done by the National Birds of Prey Centre.
