Once again we see York council making easy option upgrades that will not work.

Time and time again it has been said that the A1237 needs to be dualled but no, we will make the roundabouts bigger.

This does not cure the problem, it just makes them more dangerous.

Most of the problems revolve around the bridges and other areas where traffic is necked in, Haxby roundabout being a prime example, and until something is done about such areas the problems will not go away.

There is also the issue of the two/three lanes in and out of the roundabouts proposed by the council. This will cause its own problem running into a single lane and also making the roundabout dangerously fast.

You only have to look at the roundabout on the A64 at the Hopgrove and the A59 where the the two/three lanes run into one.

When are we going to get someone who can see this situation and accept that the whole road needs upgrading? Many years ago the recommendation of many people in Haxby was a flyover.

They could see the trouble ahead but no, so we have to put up with delays crossing the outer ring road.
