OFFERS for modelling and TV work are continuing to pour in for a mum from York since she entered a beauty contest last year.

Shany Hagan, 49, of Rawcliffe, represented the UK in the Face of the World competition on a whim and managed to beat off competition from 3,000 applicants to become a finalist. She finished as a runner-up in the Birmingham event.

Since then she has received numerous offers for modelling and TV work from agencies and companies around the world.

Shany has had a job offer from a company called Monat in America to promote hair products in the UK and across Europe.

She was recently interviewed on a live programme online, called The Fix, hosted by Hopeton Allstar Bailey, which is about inspirational stories and aims to motivate people.

In addition, she has had an article written about her which is due to be published in a woman's magazine.

She has also become a model for the natural fabrics designer brand MiKHADI.

Shany, who has a 16-year-old son, commented: "All this has happened in just the past six months or so.

"When you get excited about something and you get butterflies in your stomach, every single day recently has been like that for me.

"I'm making my dream come true."

She said an article that The Press ran about her entering the Face of the World competition was spotted in America.

"After the story was published, a TV agency in America asked if I would consider signing up with them for TV work, which I did," Shany added.

"Since then I have had various offers for modelling and TV work."

Meanwhile, Shany has won a Ms Congeniality award at the Ms Galaxy UK pageant and is representing the UK in the Smile of the Universe competition based in Russia.
