YORK charity The Wilberforce Trust has staged a VIP red carpet screening of Oscar winning short film “The Silent Child” at York's Everyman cinema to help raise the profile of its plans for a new state-of-the-art community hub off Tadcaster Road.
The hub will provide advice, guidance, equipment and technology demonstrations and empower people living with sight or hearing loss to live independent lives.
Attending the screening were trustees of the charity, leading actors, supporters of the Trust and other high profile figures, including guest of honour, Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Clare Wood.
